The Center for the Teaching of History seeks to promote history and civics education and be among the nation’s premier resource providers for educators. It will support innovative and best practices in teaching history through programs, web-based resources, fellowships, and its support of National History Day.
Teacher Workshops
The MHS develops and implements a full schedule of workshops on a variety of American history topics.
Classroom Resources
The MHS adds content-rich online resources to its website including contextual essays, documentary resources, lesson plans, and supplementary materials.
Fellowships
The MHS offers fellowships to both teachers and students.
National History Day
The Society serves as the state sponsor of Massachusetts History Day and offers various resources to help you and your students take part in the competition.
Student Programs
The MHS designs programs for students to engage with documents and artifacts and make connections to what they are learning in the classroom.
